Product Overview

Novia BS 476 Cold Weather Aluminium Foil Tape (Cold Weather) is a high strength, lower cost, single-sided 30-micron aluminium foil jointing tape suitable for a wide range of applications where Novia membranes require sealing against air and water vapour ingress. Novia® Aluminium Foil Tape is a high tack, low emissivity and low moisture vapour permeability lap sealing tape for use in Air & Vapour Control Layer’s (AVCL), Damp Proof Membrane (DPM) and Radon Gas Barrier applications.

Novia® Aluminium Foil Tape is used as a lap seal with the Novia VC4000 FR Vapour Control Layer The 96mm wide option must be used with the Novia VC4000, as a wider tape makes it easier to install the membrane on site, and a larger surface area provides a better seal.

Novia® Aluminium Foil Tape’s cold weather solvent acrylic adhesive creates a tape that can be used for installation temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius with care, but it can also be used up to temperatures of +40 degrees Celsius.

Three sizes are available from stock: 48mm x 45m, 72mm x 45m and 96mm x 45m. We recommend using the 96mm width, as a wider tape makes it easier to install the membrane on site, and a larger surface area provides a better seal.

Novia® Aluminium Foil Tape can be found on NBS Chorus and NBS Source software packages. They are available for specifying as additional products, and fall within a variety of relevant clauses.
