BS 1521 Building Paper Grades

Novia building papers are manufactured to comply with the technical requirement of BS 1521 ; 1972

" British Standard Specification for Waterproof Building Paper ", and subsequent amendments.

The product range is composed of four different grades of building papers, which are designed to meet a wide variety of user-defined application requirements.

Novia A1F Standard building paper

Traditional reinforced bitumen-bonded building paper laminated to BS 1521 Class A1F, manufactured with wet strength kraft paper and meeting the technical requirements of BS 1521, Class A1F for water-proof building papers. Use for underlays on uninsulated cladding, temporary protection, separation layers, bond breaks and draught exclusion:

1000 mm x 25 m or 50 m

Novia Polybit A1F building paper

Clear polythene coated A1F building paper available in:

1000 mm x 25 m

Novia Grade B1F non-permanent building paper

A lower-grade variant of A1F for temporary protection applications only. Use for break layers under insulated screeds, where some toughness is required during laying.

Meets the technical requirements of BS 1521 Class B1F for water-proof building paper:

1250 mm x 50 m rolls in stock

Novia B2 Temp Protection Building Paper and Break Layer Paper

Polythene coated wet-strength kraft paper to BS 1521 Class B2. Use for temporary protection jobs and break layer applications. Water resistant and good grease and solvent resistance.

Meets the technical requirements of BS 1521 Class B2 for water-proof building papers and available in:

1000 mm x 100 m
